The contemporary art gallery Arsenal asked Circo to create video content for ADN, a live lab and multi-sensory experience showcasing the talents of Canadian fashion designer Denis Gagnon. The challenge: dissect Gagnon’s artistic DNA to present his vision and creative universe, generating a large body of dynamic video content for the VJ to use throughout the night.
Our team drew inspiration from the duality in Gagnon’s collections: organic/geometric, raw/processed, natural/synthetic, rebel/chic, light/dark. We selected aesthetics and textures from his latest collection to create adaptive video content that could be used alone or superimposed on archival photo and video footage spanning the designer’s career. The content was also responsive to the mood of the moment, designed so that it could be played at different speeds and rhythms.
